Design, development and engineering

RION’s state-of-the-art Development and Engineering department provides three main services:

  • Comprehensive solutions for multi-system, complex projects.
  • Converting existing products to plastic
  • General product development and engineering services.

Each of these services can be stand-alone or can be part of an overall process that includes product concept, design, prototyping, mold design and manufacture and manufacturing the end product. For complex products the process includes:

  • Requirements specification
  • Initial design
  • Preparing and selecting the design concept
  • Detailed design
  • Product cost analysis
  • Conducting strength analyses (using the ANSYS software for strength analyses: static/dynamic, heat transfer)
  • Conducting flow analyses of the mold in order to optimize the design for injection (MoldFlow)
  • Manufacturing a prototype

Molds

With our specialized expertise in plastic injection and metal casting molds we can provide solutions that are tailor-made to each customer’s requirements. Our mold services cover design, development, manufacturing, repair, maintenance and improvement.

RION INDUSRIES’ in-house team carefully designs molds that are optimized for product size, production quantities and characteristics of the injected material. RION also manufactures the molds in Israel or abroad according to the highest professional standards.

Injection

RION INDUSTRIES has over 80 advanced injection machines of 50-2200 tons, with automated feeding systems. At RION the production process is efficient, improves product quality and saves the customer resources. Parallel production ensures that deadlines will be met.

Supplemental processing

RION provides its customers with a variety of processing services as required – metal processing, milling and turning, ultrasonic welding, insertions, pad printing, laser printing, circuit assembly, etc. These services are more cost-effective than involving additional subcontractors in the production process.

Automation

RION’s Automation department specializes in the design, implementation and adaptation of automated solutions for assembly, supplemental processing and advanced testing. These automation services guarantee that production and testing will be of a consistently high quality:

  • Production consulting, with an emphasis on automation
  • Design and construction of automated testing devices
  • Upgrading of assembly lines

Assembly and packing

A wide range of supplementary components such as seals, springs, screws, covers, electronic circuits can be assembled on to the final product on dedicated assembly lines – either manually or automatically.

Procurement and logistics

Procurement

RION procures for its customers all the components needed for the product – raw materials, seals, springs, screws, covers, electronic circuits, packaging materials and more.

Logistics

RION INDUSRIES also offers its customers a full package of logistics services including storage of raw materials, packing the product and shipping to the end-customer in Israel or abroad via air, land or sea as necessary.

Quality

RION’s responsibility to provide quality products is the company’s top priority.

Its professional QA team oversees every injection batch, ensuring uncompromising quality and real-time response during the production process. The company’s QA and QC lab for processes and products uses advanced equipment such as a comparator, hydraulic lab, XYZ, X-ray, and calibration equipment. In addition the company has implemented quality engineering tools such as FMEA, SPC and others, and is committed to the most stringent international standards:
