Cooling is the longest stage in the injection process. Therefore any improvement of the cooling process substantially shortens the product manufacturing time. Furthermore, the more efficient the cooling is in the injection process, the better the repeatability of the process and the product precision. Product cooling abilities are limited due to the fact that the standard tools, and also the more advanced tools, cannot form wave-shaped or arc-shaped cooling channels. When using conformal cooling technology, a precision 3D design of the cooling channels is applied. This design is printed using 3D printing and is incorporated within the mold. This delivers optimal cooling of the product, resulting in higher-precision manufacturing with shorter turn-around times.
